The company Home&Table by Meyhui, a Belgian specialist in tableware, is delighted about the design awards granted to Zwiesel Glas.

Zwiesel Glas has just won two major international distinctions. Based on a study conducted by the German business weekly WirtschaftsWoche and the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland), the glassmaker has been named the world leader in the glassware market for the HORECA sector for the seventh consecutive time. Additionally, the new handmade decanter carafe, Symbiosis, has been awarded for its originality at the Iconic Awards-Innovative Interior 2024. Baudouin Meyhui, CEO of the Belgian company Home & Table, is particularly pleased with this news: “We are immensely proud to have been distributing Zwiesel glassware for over 60 years. These high-quality glasses adorn the tables of many well-rated restaurants in the Michelin and Gault&Millau guides. These elegant crystal glasses are renowned for their particularly pleasant clinking sound when toasting.”

 

The Iconic – Innovative Interior 2024 award, annually organized by the German Design Council, is considered the ‘barometer of interior design industry trends’. This award emphasizes quality, ergonomics, and innovation while valuing material choices, sustainability, and smart solutions. In the category ‘Product Design – Kitchen & Household’, a jury composed of international design and interior design experts crowned Zwiesel’s Symbiosis wine carafe.

“Thanks to its crackled structure, the mouth-blown decanter immediately attracts attention,” says Baudouin Meyhui. “The cracked pattern suggests great fragility. The crystal glass rests on a Finnish soapstone base and the whole is complemented by a high-quality felt base. The sophisticated design and the symbiosis between fine crystal and stone give this carafe an undeniable presence.”

Meyhui: “This is not the first time Zwiesel Glas has been recognized. Last year, this internationally renowned award was given to their ‘Ink’ glass series. In 2022, it was the ‘Glamorous’ series that was honored, a beautiful illustration of recognition for the excellence and consistency of the German glass manufacturer’s design expertise.”
